Conor McGregor’s brother-in-law, Mark Elliot, has to pay the helmsman over 1,300 euros

Conor McGregor’s brother-in-law was hit with a € 1,300 bill by the tax officer as the UFC fighter celebrated a € 19 million paycheck after losing to Dustin Poirier.

According to records received from the Sunday World Show, on June 23, 2021, the Collector General issued a judgment of 1,347 euros against convicted drug dealer Mark Elliot – the husband of Conor’s sister Aoife.

In the judgment, the 45-year-old’s profession is listed as a “gentleman”. The verdict states that the debt has still been paid.

Elliot married Aoife McGregor on New Years Eve 2016 at the Powerscourt Hotel in Co Wicklow.

The wedding marked a dramatic turnaround for Elliot, who was serving a drug-related prison sentence less than four years earlier.

Mark Elliot has often been spotted with Conor McGregor.

He spent three years at Wheatfield Prison after being caught in possession of a huge supply of cannabis for sale and delivery.

Gardaí searched his house on February 16, 2009 on Old Bridge Walk, Lucan in the west of Dublin. During the search, Gardaí discovered two kilos of cannabis herb with a street value of € 40,000 on the property.

Elliot was charged with possession of the drug for sale and delivery in Dublin Circuit Court the following June.

In connection with the raid, he was sentenced to a total of six years in prison.

However, Elliot was given two years’ imprisonment and with a 25% remission, Elliot was released from prison in June 2013.

After serving his time, Elliott left his criminal past behind to gain legitimacy as a businessman.

He was co-director of Imperium Developments Ltd with Kinahan-affiliated gangster Graham ‘the Wig’ Whelan.

Company documents show that the real estate development company founded in 2018 was dissolved in March 2020.

Graham Whelan is currently awaiting trial in the Special Criminal Court on a number of counts related to money laundering and drug trafficking.

The charges arose out of his arrest in a penthouse suite in a luxury hotel in south Dublin.

There is no evidence that Imperium was involved in any wrongdoing.

Elliot has been pictured on several occasions with MMA fighter McGregor, who is currently having a lot to celebrate despite his UFC 264 loss to Dustin Poirier last weekend.

McGregor made a whopping $ 23,011,000 (€ 19,438,782) payday, including a cool pay-per-view bonus of $ 18 million (€ 15 million) on the fight.

Despite being forced to concede a goal in just one round due to a broken leg, “The Notorious” still cashed in their UFC-guaranteed $ 5,000,000 and ran out of wallet due to the success $ 23 million rise in PPV event.

With the fight over in just five minutes, it meant the Dubliner received just under € 4 million for every minute he was at the Octagon.

Poirier made reported $ 5,121,000 (€ 4,325,769), which includes a PPV cut of $ 3,600,000 (€ 3,040,876).

With Poirier now having a head start in their trilogy encounter, a fourth clash is imminent between them. UFC President Dana White hints at McGregor’s return after recovering from surgery on his leg.

Listed as the world’s highest-paid athlete by Forbes this year, the Notorious is valued at around € 300 million after he and his partners sold their € 500 million stake in his whiskey company earlier this year.

McGregor is no longer the majority shareholder in Proper 12 Whiskey, but shared the nine-figure sum with his agent Audie Attar and their partner Ken Austin.

He was awarded € 2.5 million in prize money for beating Donald Cerrone last January, but the former two-weight champion claimed he made a total of € 65 million after bonuses.

McGregor is believed to have grossed around € 41 million in total for his 2018 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
