Lowndes County Tax Commission Office temporarily closed to the public

The Tax Commission office will remain closed until September 7, 2021, according to a post from Lowndes County’s Tax Commissioner Rodney V. Cane. Only a limited number of appointments are accepted for the processing of title papers, which, according to the law, must be processed within 7 days. Appointments can be made by calling 671-2579 or 671-2580. Many options to pay and renew will be offered during this time. Drive-through services behind the office are available Monday through Friday until 5:00 p.m. There is a kiosk in the Publix supermarket at 330 Inner Perimeter Road. Anyone who can renew their registration will be given a sticker immediately on site. The US Mail service should be used when paying property tax, RV tax, personal property tax, timber tax, and vehicle registration renewal. In return, a sticker will be sent to you. There are also 2 drop boxes available, one at the rear entrance and the second at the drive through. Boxes are checked several times a day.
