Second leisure marijuana retailer opened in Coldwater

Coldwater’s second recreational marijuana store opened on Friday.

Lume joined the Chamber of Commerce and cut a ribbon to open the store in a former auto repair center at 351 S. Willowbrook Road west of Walmart.

This was the Troy-based company’s 19th store and two more are about to open. There are currently 23 full-time employees with full benefits. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Lume offers delivery within 30 miles in Michigan. It’s free for purchases of $ 75 or more.

The company produces its own marijuana flower buds.

“We source from third parties, but it’s mostly our own flowers,” said manager Olivia.

The company has its own edibles, including a range of mixed gummy bears that contain different amounts of THC and CBD for different effects.

The store only sells recreational marijuana, but gives those with medical marijuana cards an additional 20% discount to offset the excise tax that medical users don’t pay.

The manager said Lume is like “the Apple Store,” where employees are trained to train users.
