Veteran IP litigator Milton Springut joins Moses & Singer

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE) – Moses & Singer LLP is pleased to announce Milton Springut as a partner in intellectual property. His long-term colleague Caroline Boehm also joins as Special Counsel.

Springut has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of IP litigation, prosecution and advice, including numerous patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and computer law matters. He represents and pursues patents in the scientific disciplines, including electrical and electronic systems, computer hardware and software, and business systems, drawing on his early experience at Bell Laboratories where he developed computer hardware and software systems. He has also built a reputation as one of the most experienced litigation attorneys in the country in trademark, counterfeit and gray goods cases and represents the world’s leading luxury brands and international fashion houses such as Gucci, Guess? and several Richemont brands.

“Milton is one of the most influential intellectual property lawyers in the country. His ability to help companies of all sizes develop their intellectual property – and protect those rights from misappropriation and infringement – will be a tremendous boon to our customers, ”said Elizabeth A. Corradino, Chair of Entertainment & Media, Technology and Intellectual Real Estate Practice Groups.

Springut will continue to advise Fortune 500 companies, medium-sized companies and internet start-ups from various industries, with a focus on patent disputes, fashion and luxury goods as well as technology and media rights. He is also very familiar with the demanding process of obtaining product trade apparel rights, as he has secured and litigated those rights for various iconic luxury goods products.

“In view of its established presence in medium-sized companies in several disciplines and industries, Moses & Singer is a perfect fit for me at the right time,” said Springut. “I look forward to working with my new talented colleagues to help clients address the evolving IP issues, particularly with regard to new online platforms that are significantly impacting the value of their brands.”

Springut has been running his own IP boutique, Springut Law, since 2013 and was previously Name Partner at Kalow & Springut from 1996. Outside of his busy practice, he served as a board member and IP advisor for the American Foundation for the Blind, which he continues to represent free of charge on a variety of matters. He has a JD from Seton Hall University, an MS in electrical engineering and computer science from Columbia University, and a BS in electrical engineering from City College of New York.
