The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) released an Implementation and Program Guide for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for Excise Tax Purposes on June 22nd. EDI is the electronic exchange of business documents from the computer of one company to the computer of another company in machine-processable, national standard data formats. Implementation of the EDI program requires that all dealers or suppliers submit their fuel tax returns and plans electronically in a standard format prescribed by the director.
