Journey company receives donation to help With Information Kiosks

From Tom Cross

The Adams County Travel & Visitors Bureau would like to thank the Adams County Community Foundation for the US $ 500 donation. The donation helped cover the cost of updating the three visitor information booths at Keim’s Family Market, Miller’s Bakery & Furniture and Serpent Mound.

Each kiosk has been updated with four new 33×23 full color laminated posters showing the latest 2021 event dates, accommodations, attractions, and a map and index of Adams County. The total cost of design, layout, and printing for the total of 12 posters was $ 732.43.

Each poster features the Adams County Community Foundation logo in the lower right corner.

The Adams County Travel & Visitors Bureau updates the calendar of events every year, and every two years all new posters are designed and printed with updated information.

“We are grateful for the financial help from the Adams County Community Foundation,” said Tom Cross, executive director of the Adams County Travel Bureau. “Currently the travel agency has several project expenses in our annual marketing budget. We are a small tourist office with limited resources, so a donation of this size has a big impact. “

The Adams County Travel & Visitors Bureau (ACTVB) is not for profit 501 (c) 3 and is funded by a 3% excise tax paid by overnight guests at Adams County accommodation facilities. The ACTVB’s annual budget is typically just under $ 50,000 per year.
