PROVINCE EXTENDS COVID-19 PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR SHOP OWNERS (and other businesses) in LOCKDOWN AREAS:
Following our “Local Tax Act Update: COVID-19 Property Tax Relief For Eligible Companies” dated November 17, 2020 (click here for a link), an update was made to the Ontario Government website on December 1, 2020 to expand the COVID-19 property tax refund program to include the following additional businesses that would be eligible When a region is locked:
- Retail must be closed for personal purchases;
- Shopping centers;
- personal services;
- Driving instruction;
- Tour and tour guide;
- Photography services; and
- Campsites
