Operations Manager, Santa Fe Brewing Company
Job overview:
This is a newly created position that is responsible for both the overall advance planning and the day-to-day functioning of the detailed level of the production facility. This critical position will serve as an information center for all production resources as they are responsible for planning production as well as sourcing and maintaining all raw material inventory from brewery to basement to packaging. By staying in regular contact with sales and logistics, they will manage our schedules and inventory levels to maintain our just-in-time production model and ensure the freshest beer on the market.
The high-level position is best for a detailed, data-driven person who is interested in ensuring the timely flow of production information through the entire organization. This includes not only the planning and material information needed to operate, but also financial and performance reports that help us drive improvements in these aspects of the organization.

Responsibilities:
- forecast
- Create and maintain an annual brewing plan
- Production planning
- Create and maintain monthly overview plans
- Create and maintain detailed brewing and packaging plans on a weekly basis
- Work with sales to coordinate the planning of new or seasonal / limited products
- Collaborate with production and maintenance to plan PM windows
- Work with packaging and logistics to meet weekly JIT shipping schedules

- Maintain stocks of all raw materials for the brewery and packaging departments
- Purchasing
- Buy all raw materials for brewery and packaging departments
- Maintain supplier relationships for all materials
- If necessary, maintain material purchase contracts
- reporting
- Create and maintain monthly production performance and departmental financial reports
- Participation in the annual budgeting process and regular monitoring of production-related costs / expenses
- Attention
- Preparation and submission of all monthly federal and state production reports as well as excise tax declarations
Qualifications, skills and competencies:
- 3+ years manufacturing / production experience required, preferably with a food / beverage company
- 1+ years of management or proven leadership experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or management is preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and written / oral communication skills required
- Strong MS Office skills required. ERP and MRP experience and / or other forecasting / planning software systems are highly preferred.
- Understanding of manufacturing process flow, inventory control, and lean manufacturing principles required
- Understand general finance, budgeting, and planning processes required
- Detailed yet strategic, careful about data accuracy, but with a “big picture” mentality
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment is required
- Self-directed and able to work independently but with a collaborative mentality.
- At least 21 years old required. Interest in brewing desirable.
