The governor of Virginia signed law on March 30th directing the Treasury Department to consider the prospect of creating an online portal for tax advisors for individual income, corporate income, trust income, property tax, excise tax, and sales and use tax purposes analyze. The law contains measures according to which the department must: 1) analyze the prospect of setting up an online portal for tax advisors with valid power of attorney and declaration of representation for access to confidential customer information; 2) evaluate comparable services offered by the Internal Revenue Service and other states that provide electronic access to confidential taxpayer information; …
