The proprietor of North Pier Ocean Villas owes $ 42,000 in unpaid property taxes

A local property management company owes more than $ 40,000 in outstanding property taxes.

North Pier Associates owes New Hanover County property taxes of just over $ 42,000 on its Carolina Beach property. This is evident from the county’s list of delinquent taxes. North Carolina property taxes are due September 1 of each year but can be paid without penalty until early January of the next year.

The company owns the North Pier Ocean Villas on 1800 Canal Drive. The villas are equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and each unit is independently owned. Prices start at $ 300 per week.

According to the complex’s website, villa owners can trade their vacation time for accommodations in 3,000 locations around the world through vacation exchange partnerships.

Representatives from North Pier Associates and the New Hanover County Tax Department did not respond to calls asking for comment.

North Pier Associates is listed as the owner of several other Carolina Beach properties according to the New Hanover County Property Assessment. These include the Sun Skipper Condos on 1600 Canal Drive, one property on 1810 Canal Drive, and one property on 1808 Canal Drive.

North Carolina law requires the counties to publish the delinquent tax list each year. Saturday’s newspaper records were updated on April 29th and may not reflect those who have since paid their outstanding amounts.
