BERWYN, Pa .– (BUSINESS WIRE) – Trinseo (NYSE: TSE), a global materials solutions provider and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders, and synthetic rubber, announced today that its board of directors has approved a quarterly dividend of $ 0.08 per share. The dividend is a cash distribution payable to shareholders of record on January 21, 2021 at the close of business on January 7, 2021.
Tax considerations
Trinseo is a limited liability company under Luxembourg law. Under current Luxembourg tax law, distributions to shareholders on the repayment of equity or share bonuses are not subject to Luxembourg withholding tax. Distributions made by Trinseo before 2020 were repayments of equity or share bonuses and were therefore not subject to Luxembourg withholding tax.
This quarterly distribution counts as dividend on the common stock and is subject to withholding tax at 15% under Luxembourg law. Trinseo will deduct this tax from the dividends paid to our shareholders and pass this tax on to the Luxembourg tax authorities.
Certain withholding tax exemptions or reductions may apply to Shareholders based on Luxembourg tax legislation or applicable income tax treaties.
